Moxibustion
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, moxibustion, is a moxa stick made of moxa leaves, moxa columns, and the moxa heat generated stimulates acupoints or specific parts of the human body, and adjusts the physiological and biochemical functions of the human body by stimulating the activities of meridian qi, so as to achieve A method of treatment for the purpose of preventing and curing diseases. The mechanism of action of moxibustion is similar to that of acupuncture, and it has complementary therapeutic effects with acupuncture. It has many advantages to enhance the effectiveness of treating.
There is an electro-moxa using the same heat frequency that is generated by moxa columns, but without smoke or odour. It is safe to use indoors so not activate fire alarms or require ventilation.
The scope of application of moxibustion is generally mainly for
* "yin disease" - e.g. disease or discomfort relates to blood and fluids
* "chronic chronic disease" - disease for long time
* It is also used for some "acute yang deficiency" diseases. - e.g. wind-cold
